"Our planet is worth seeing so at Alcon we want to create a sustainable future where the lives of the people and communities we serve are both better and brighter. We already use recyclable plastic and cardboard in our contact lens packaging.

Now this partnership with Plastic Bank will help us do even more to improve our plastic impact while continuing to help people see brilliantly all over the world."

ABOUT PLASTIC BANK

Plastic Bank empowers Ocean Stewards to stop ocean plastic. Our ethical collection communities exchange plastic for life-improving benefits. Exchanges are recorded through a blockchain-secured platform that enables traceable collection, secures income, and verifies reporting. Collected material is processed into Social Plastic feedstock for reuse in products and packaging. PlasticBank®, Social Plastic® and Alchemy™ are trademarks of The Plastic Bank Recycling Corporation. Plastic Bank’s certified blockchain platform secures the entire transaction and provides real-time data visualization – allowing for transparency, traceability, and rapid scalability. The collected material is reborn as Social Plastic® which can be easily reintegrated into products and packaging as part of a closed-loop supply chain. Plastic Bank currently operates in Haiti, Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Egypt.
